Public Records Request Information

SECOMM is the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for all of Benton and Franklin Counties.  A PSAP is an agency responsible for answering 9-1-1 calls for emergency assistance from police, fire and ambulance services. 

    

SECOMM maintains electronic, paper and audio records, in compliance with RCW 42.56 Public Records Act, as it relates to disclosure of public records.  All records obtained in the course of BCES/SECOMM business are the property of BCES/SECOMM.

   

The City of Richland is the administrating jurisdiction for SECOMM.  In accordance with RCW 42.56.580, the public records officer for SECOMM is City of Richland Clerk's Office.   Please contact the office at (509) 942-7388 or follow this link to the 9-1-1 records request form.  9-1-1 Public Records Request Form


The general public may request printed copies of the Background Event Chronology (CAD) and copies of audio recordings, such as 9-1-1 calls, non-emergency police and fire/EMS calls, as well as recorded radio communications involving police, fire/EMS.  Audio records are retained for 270 days and CAD records are retained for three years.
